The Socialist Democrats Don’t Care What You Want
I read an article in the New York Times titled “Obama’s Call for Transparency May Conflict With His Agenda” and was struck by the idea that the Democrats really don’t care what the American people want or, in the case of healthcare reform, don’t want. Despite an obvious statement being made by a Republican winning Ted Kennedy’s seat in the Senate, the Democrats are still trying to come up with a way to force to socialized medicine down our throats. Despite promises by their leader, Barack Obama, of more transparency, they are still meeting behind closed doors in the back rooms of the Capitol. Democratic leaders show no inclination to televise the negotiations on C-Span. A more fastidious process might be the president’s stated priority — not theirs. From the mouth of Nancy Pelosi comes a great example of the arrogance of the Socialist Democrats:
As I’ve said to my colleagues, Go in the door. The door’s locked? Go to the gate. The gate’s locked? Climb over the fence. It’s too high? Pole vault in. That doesn’t work? Parachute in. We have to get this done for the American people, one way or the other.
The only problem with that point of view Nancy, is that we don’t want it.
