Sunday’s Recap – A review of this past week’s posts from The Conservative Nation
Sunday seems to be a good day to review some of the news events of the past week, some that I have written about and maybe some that I haven’t. If you would like to receive this weekly review via email become a citizen of The Conservative Nation, or send me a note to bill@theconservativenation.com. This week’s review includes:
Obama Administration Announces New Terror Interrogation Unit
President Barack Obama has approved creation of a new, special terrorism-era interrogation unit to be supervised by the White House, a top aide said Monday, further distancing his administration from President George W. Bush’s detainee policies. The administration has also decided that all U.S. interrogators will follow the rules for detainees laid out by the Army Field Manual, according to senior administration officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the decision. That decision aims to end years of fierce debate over how rough U.S. personnel can get with terror suspects in custody.
It Couldn’t Have Been Said Better
I don’t know if you’ve heard, but the socialist Democrats are planning to hold up to 500 Pro-Obamacare rallies between now and when Congress returns from its summer vacation. I wonder how much each participant will be paid to attend and participate. I’ve written so much on their efforts to implement some form of socialized medicine and I’m not in the mood to deal with it tonight.
Someone sent me an email that was somewhat humorous, yet somewhat appalling as well. I’ve decided to post it for your enjoyment.
Getting Rid Of Telemarketers & Phone Scammers by guest author, CLATES
I used to get really fired up and angry when telemarketers would call. I’d answer, hear the long pause with the sound of dozens of other telemarketers in the background and eventually hear someone mispronounce my last name. I am a polite person so I would let them get out the beginning of their pitch and politely say “I am not interested”. Of course, they are instructed to continue their spiel, at which point I would fly off the handle and start yelling at them. Sometimes I would have a little sick fun with it and give them a bunch of shit about being such a loser that they had to do this for a living. “Can’t you get a respectable job like cleaning toilets or something?”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Kennedy family
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Kennedy family during their time of mourning over the loss of their patriarch, Sen. Edward M. Kennedy. While I do not agree with most of his political beliefs, I do respect Sen. Kennedy’s unwavering support for the liberal issues he believed in. God Bless You, Kennedy family.
Personality & Other Vital Factors To Succeed Online Home Business by guest author, CLATES
Is personality a factor to achieve success in any legitimate home business opportunity? What is personality to do with online business?
Yes, it is all about personality. Personality determines success or failure in online home business. But before defining the influence of personality in business through internet, first we have to understand the nature of online home business.
CONGRESSMAN DEMANDS TO SEE CONSTITUENT’S ID BEFORE ALLOWING TOWN
Now the socialists demand to see a constituent’s identification papers before allowing a question to be asked? Watch Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA). This is just one more reason that they all have to go in 2010. Visit goooh.com.
Bill would give president emergency control of Internet
In yet ANOTHER grab for power, the socialist Democrats in the senate have written a bill that would give President Obama the power to disconnect non-government users from the Internet. Sen. Jay Rockefeller, (D-WV) and his aides have spent months secretly writing the bill that would allow to the president to “declare a cyber security emergency” relating to “non-governmental” computer networks and do what’s necessary to respond to the threat. Other sections of the proposal include a federal certification program for “cyber security professionals,” and a requirement that certain computer systems and networks in the private sector be managed by people who have been awarded that license. To say that Internet companies and civil liberties groups are alarmed when a U.S. Senate bill proposes handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet is an understatement.
LA Rep: Healthcare Opponents Want To Destroy “First President Who Looks Like Me“
“They are spreading fear and they’re trying to see that the first president who looks like me — fails.” “People look at the United States as a country that has changed it’s way and elected someone from Kenya (Is she a birther?) and Kansas, I’ll put it like that.” KABC’s Michael Linder was the only broadcast reporter at Thursday night’s town hall health care debate at Wade AME Church when Rep. Diane Watson [D] made some astonishing comments including claims that those opposed to health care reform are attempting to destroy a president “who looks like me.” Later, Watson praised heath care in Fidel Castro’s Cuba — and, it seemed, the Cuban revolution itself.
