No Vote On Healthcare Until Autumn
President Obama conceded today that his healthcare reform bill will not be voted on before late September or October. “This bill, even in the best-case scenario, will not be signed; we won’t even vote on it probably until the end of September or the middle of October,” he said in a meeting held to muster public support for the reforms. “We’re just trying to get all these different bills out of committee,” he said. The president wanted the bill voted on and passed before the summer recess began on August 7th. He knows that if the legislators go home, they are likely to learn first hand how their constituents feel about healthcare reform, which will probably reduce the bills chance of being passed. He has this to say:
Some of the folks sincerely want to get it right, and we want to give them enough time to get it right. We don’t want to just do it quickly, we want to do it right. But some folks have specifically said on the other side: The more we can delay, the better chance we have of killing the bill.
While this is a small battle won, now is not the time to declare victory, nor to even let up on congressmen and senators. We still need to let them know how we feel about the Obama administration’s attempt to socialize our healthcare. There is growing dissent among the Democrats on this bill. The liberals are unhappy with the current version because it doesn’t socialize the entire healthcare system, establishing the government as the single payer. The conservatives, (the good guys
There is one thing to be on the lookout for if the liberals concede single payer. I’ll call it “Healthcare-The Sequel”. Liberals are patient, if nothing else. They will accept healthcare reform in any fashion, knowing full well that they will be able to attempt enacting the rest of their agenda in Phase Two, i.e. “Healthcare-The Sequel”.

I appreciate your work to raise awareness of the problems with Obamacare.
Obstruction of change only goes so far. If we want to stop the march toward greater centralization and government control of health care, conservatives must find better solutions for health care funding.
I advocate an idea called Medical Savings and Loan. The program adds a loan component to a medical savings account.

Medical Savings and Loan, I’ll definitely check it out. On the surface it seems like a good idea. Thanks for reading and commenting on my blog. Did you become a citizen of The Conservative Nation?
