Sunday’s Recap – A review of this past week’s posts from The Conservative Nation
Happy Father’s Day!! Sunday seems to be a good day to review some of the news events of the past week, some that I have written about and maybe some that I haven’t. If you would like to receive this weekly review via email, send me a note to bill@theconservativenation.com. This week’s review includes:
Letterman Apologizes-Again
David Letterman’s “kinda-sorta” apology last week obviously did not go over well. Today he issued a more sincere apology, including an explanation that he had no idea that 14 year-old Willow Palin was with her mother at the Yankees ball game.
Letterman has found himself in the middle of the controversy that may not only cost him his upcoming two year contract extension, but may ultimately cost him his job as a talk show host. What I don’t understand is why he thinks his remarks are any less offensive just because he intended them to be about Mrs. Palin’s older daughter, Bristol. Nor do I understand why other commentators try to defend his mistake. The comments were not acceptable about Willow nor were they acceptable about Bristol. There is also one other thing that I don’t understand, and that is why flight attendants have given him a pass on an obvious insult to them and their profession.
ABC Programming To Be “All Barack Channel”
Matt Drudge is reporting that ABC will be turning over programming to the Obama White House on the night of June 24th. The Obama gang plans to push their government run health care program onto unsuspecting viewers. Drudge uses the words “ethical firestorm in his article, before providing highlights of program’s agenda. As you might expect, the RNC has complained to ABC, and as you might expect, the complaint has gotten the RNC no where.
Fox And Friends Offers Obama A Seat On Their Curvy Couch
President Obama complained about Fox News Network attacking his administration and the hosts of Fox And Friends have extended an invitation to him to appear on their show. Let’s see if he will take them up on it.
PETA wishes Obama hadn’t swatted that fly
We all know that President Obama swatted a fly during his recent interview with state-run media MSNBC. Now the president of PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) wants the president of the USA (United States of America) to adopt a more humane and compassionate attitude the next time he has to deal with a fly. The organization is sending President Obama a house fly trap so that the next time he is confronted with a fly, it can be caught and released outside.
USS John McCain Set To Intercept North Korean Ship
The USS John McCain, a navy destroyer, will intercept the ship Kang Nam as soon as it leaves the vicinity off the coast of China, according to a senior U.S. defense official. The order to interdict has not been given yet, but the ship is getting into position. North Korea has threatened to retaliate if any actions are taken against its ship. In the past, the rogue Communist nation has threatened to use it nuclear weapons in any retaliatory action. This is becoming a serious and scary situation.
Obama Job Approval Slips to 58% for First Time
President Barack Obama’s job approval rating fell to 58% in Gallup Poll Daily tracking from June 16-18 — a new low for Obama in Gallup tracking, although not dissimilar to the 59% he has received on four other occasions. People may now slowly be beginning to catch on to Barack Obama and the scam he is pulling on America.
That’s it for this week’s review. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for taking the time to read my blog, and to encourage you to talk back to me by leaving a comment or two. Also, if you want to write an article, let me know. Remember, if you would like to receive this weekly review via email, send a note to bill@theconservativenation.com.
