Obama Knew What He Was Getting With Sotomayor
David Limbaugh has written a very interesting article raising the point that Mr. Obama was not surprised by Ms. Sotomayor’s 2001 statement:
“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”
He makes the point that just as he knew precisely what his 20-year pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was about and approved, he knew, prior to nominating her, what Sonia Sotomayor is about and approved. In both cases, he just didn’t want us to know. If you believe Mr. Obama when he says that he is sure that Ms. Sotomayor wishes she would have chosen her words better, then you have to believe that she wishes it multiple times. She has made that same statement in one form or another many different times on many different occasions over the years.
