Climate Change – Man-Made or Natural?

NOAA has published a new study which says that climate change would not be reversed for 1000 years even if carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions were completely halted. The report says that this climate change is caused by rising levels of CO2 in the atmosphere, which have occurred during the industrial age, inferring that it is caused by man.

I have read that more and more scientists are beginning to call man-made global warming a hoax and are attributing climate change to normal climate cycles that have been occurring for millenniums. I do not have the knowledge to debate whether the climate is actually changing or not, but I do offer for consideration the possibility, maybe even the probability, that any changes in the climate we are experiencing are cyclical and it is just a coincidence that climate change is occurring when CO2 levels are higher than they have been in the past.

The study makes the point that, “Before the industrial age CO2 in Earth’s atmosphere amounted to only 280 parts per million” and today they are at 385 parts per million. How do they know what the CO2 levels were over 100 years ago? Are the measurements based on theories? Who is to say that rises in levels of CO2 in the atmosphere aren’t cyclical too?
